TRANSFORMER Is the device that transfers electric energy from one alternating current circuit to one or more other circuits, either increasing (stepping up) or reducing (stepping down) the voltage. Transformers are used to increase or decrease the alternating voltages in electric power applications. PARTS OF TRANSFORMER There are three parts of Transformer 1. Primary winding This produced magnetic flux when it is connected to an electrical source. 2. Secondary winding The flux produced by the primary winding passes through the core will link with the secondary winding. This winding is also on the same core and gives the desired output of the Transformer. 3.
